7 Million people in Haiti are without power and with only estimated 25% actually having access to electrical services. For the town of Thoman, the power supply is so erratic that the town’s health clinic operates on a diesel generator. Given the limited access to, and high cost of fuel, this was not an optimal solution. Therefore, a plan was hatched to help this community find a renewable and reliable solution.
Radiance Solar extended a helping hand to the Georgia Tech led effort designing a cost-effective, easy to implement solution. In May, 2016, the 7.2kW project was installed by students, faculty and volunteers.
