During a recent meeting of Millen City Council, a bid from Radiance Solar was approved for the city’s solar project. The $940,976 bid was the only one received for the project.
It was noted that the bid, along with the development cost of $114,350 was $139,674 less than the total of the Georgia Environmental Finance Authority (GEFA) loan the city has received to fund the project.
The project will consist of the installation of solar panels at the city’s wastewater treatment plan and two of its wells. The electrical savings to the city has been estimated to be approximately $1,368,118 over the next 25 years.
